Then & Now

Many of the buildings in Koringberg date back to the early 1900s with their thick lei-klip walls and wooden floor and ceiling beams. Some of these are now being lovingly restored by newcomers to our village.

Above shows the old school building at Bakoond, the original NG Kerk building and the church as it stands today.

On the right shows The Ou Pastorie as it looked in 1973 and today. Come and take a look at the many examples of restoration around the dorp.

Among the newcomers to our village are architects, international artists, journalists, entrepeneurs and more, who are all adding their own colour and flair.
