30 August is the Koringberg Broodfees. Get there at 9am when the doors open, and you'll be facing a veritable feast of home made cakes and breads, rusks, pastries, potjiekos, and much more as well as some of the best meat available anywhere. The stalls, with their crafts and antiques are also worth a visit.

And then, of course, there is the Swartland Mountain Bike Fun Race on the same day. Meandering through green wheat fields and some pristine fynbos, this race promises to be both grueling and exhilarating. Go to www.raceday.co.za for entry forms or on the race day from 7am. Race starts at 9am.
